The Reason

The Reason

So the other day I thought I would just pop down town and do a couple of errands. Turn out it’s not the season of quickly popping down town to do a FEW errands at all.

It’s the season of hustle, and bustle, and busyness. Everyone around us is rushing to and fro. Seems fold have their focus on Father Christmas and his reindeer coming to visit. They’re making sure there’s plenty of food for everyone. They are gathering presents and gifts galore. There is so much pressure going on.

As Christians we focus on the most precious gift ever give. God’s precious son, JESUS!

Jesus is the reason for this season – yes but He is the gift we celebrate everyday, not just Christmas Day.

He came to earth to die for us so that we could be reconciled to our Father God. He is the eternal sacrifice.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son so that anyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” What an act of love that is! Love is the reason for the season.

So as we choose to put aside the busyness, let us have an attitude of gratitude for the gift that led the way to everlasting life given through Jesus.

Rather than gifts and presents, let us take the time to be present with Him and be in His presence. For after all, He is Emmanuel – God with us.
