Searching For Answers?

When you are searching for answers about faith, it’s time to look toward Jesus. We believe life with Jesus is living our best life! Our desire is that you would respond to His invitation to live life together.

Jesus said, “I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!” (John 10:10 TPT)

God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.

“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

It is love that motivates God to be in relationship with you. It is His love that we are designed to need, and when we don’t have it we subconsciously search for it. Most of us search in all the wrong places until we realise our search is not working for us. That’s when we realise we need God.

When we live with God in our lives we gain access to our best life, (see point 3 below).

All of us sin, and our sin has separated us from God.

Sin is a word that’s widely mis-understood. Basically, sin is when we choose to be the “boss” of our lives, to deny God as our God and make our decisions based on what we want. This always leads us to make mistakes and often we create pain for ourselves and others. This sin is what separates us from God.

We all sin, that’s human nature. But we have an invitation to return back to God by accepting His solution for overcoming our sin. That requires us to give up being the boss, and allow Him to be our God. We can only do that through Jesus.

Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Through Jesus we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.

So that God could be reunited with us, He made a plan. The Bible says, “For our sake he made him [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor 5:21)

This means that Jesus took our place! Jesus chose to pay the necessary price for our sin so that we could be reconciled with God!

It gets a bit complicated, but essentially, Jesus died so that we do not have to live our life separate from God. Through Jesus we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.

When we choose to confess with our mouths that ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, the Bible says we will be saved. (Romans 10:9) This is the good news!

We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

Our response to God’s invitation is to say “Yes” to Jesus, giving up the control that was causing us pain and separation, and choosing to accept Jesus as our Saviour (meaning He saves us from our sin) and Lord (meaning we choose to live in agreement with His Truth).

When we make this confession we do so by faith, meaning we believe it to be true. In response to your confession God will come and fill your heart with His love and goodness – your life will never be the same again! The faith we receive is a gift from God, we cannot earn it by actions, only through surrender.

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer.

We must receive Jesus Christ. “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)

Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.

Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.

The following is a suggested prayer. If you feel this expresses the desire of your heart, then you can say this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
