Seek the Kingdom

As I sit in my favourite chair on December 1st 2024 having just put up our christmas tree I take a moment to reflect….

This year has just flown by for me in the thick of raising small children. It has been hard, it has been fun, there have been moments of joy and moments of extreme sadness and all of it I am grateful to God for.

Not only has he entrusted us to walk out His great plan on earth,  He has given us the ability to experience the fullness of God and as we approach the Christmas season we need to remember to think about Godly things.

Revelation comes when God uses scripture or His Holy Spirit to speak to us and that’s exactly the place I write this devotion from.

Everyday we miss opportunities to connect with God, we have some free time and we end up looking at reels, we drive to work in silence and not listen to worship music, we open every other app on our entire phones and  the bible app not very often.

Prayer is more transactional than it is about connection. These missed opportunities I believe hold us back from moving forward in the Things of God.

If each us committed to 5 opportunities in any particular day to connect with God then things would change, work would not be done in our own strength, you will find that your current relationships begin to flourish, you may find your financial situation changes and you may even be more in step with what God is doing in the community.

In Matthew 6:33 we are encouraged to seek the kingdom of God first.

I personally think that we could all do a little more of that this Christmas.

God Bless
