“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no-one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility towards all men.” (Titus 3:1-2)
This really struck a chord with me… “be ready to do whatever is good” but how do we do good, when we are locked up at home… how do we love the lost and the lonely, the sick and the burdened in this time?
Then, this morning I read about a 77 year old lady in China, who wakes up before dawn every morning, walks to a nearby hill, climbs up it, and spends hours praying and interceding for her church, her village, and the salvation of her non-believing neighbours.. She prays till dawn breaks. She has been doing this for 40 years! She also has been fasting one or two days a week since she became a Christian – doing whatever is good…I was encouraged!
The Lord has given us this time to return to Him. He has cleared our busy schedules, and removed all the things we use as excuses not to spend time with Him, or only give Him our leftovers… if you struggle with self-control, just ask Him to help you, He will. In this time that He has given to each one of us, let us return our focus to Him, seek Him as our first love, and grow in intimacy with our Lord and Saviour. Let us pray without ceasing. Let us return to the inner room, and spend time with our Father, where only He can see. And He will move on our behalf.
May the Grace and Peace of our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
