Church Without Walls – Devotion Activity 6

In this series of Church Without Walls we’re suggesting to you that church looks like spending time with God. Spending time with God makes room for the Holy Spirit to meet your deepest needs. We encourage personal devotions using scripture to guide us as a helpful tool in allowing God to work in our hearts. Our desire is for this devotion to lead you to be inspired by God’s Word to persevere in faith in all circumstances and seasons.

Make room for the Holy Spirit to meet your deepest needs.

CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS ACTIVITY CHALLENGE
Devotion Activity #6

Hebrews 10: 19-39

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but lets encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

Persevere in Faith

I don’t know about you, but I get so encouraged listening to the testimonies of others. How they have overcome, been healed, persevered, and clung to the promises of God through trials and hardships. How they have hoped in the promises of God and seen his faithfulness. I love hearing their “faith” stories and it always grows my faith.

When life is tough we need each other to persevere in faith.

Sometimes there can be a fine line between boasting of our own strength and proclaiming Gods faithfulness, but let’s be a people who always point people to Gods glory and his goodness. And sometimes we can miss the small miracles in our lives as we get busy with day to day living, but let’s not miss all that God has for us in each day.

Sometimes surviving in life takes grit.

CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS

The challenge for you this week is to share your faith to encourage another. There are several ways you can do this:

  • Invite someone for a coffee and share your testimony.
  • Share a social media post boasting of God’s goodness.
  • Sit down with your kids and share stories about how he has provided for your family.
  • Strike up a conversation with the check-out chick or the guy at the petrol pump and slip in how good God is!
