Matthew 16: 18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
This verse has just stuck with me as I read it last week. It’s so familiar yet so profound.
Jesus said that He will build His Church.

Two things that I have been pondering:
- He will do the building.
- It’s His church…..And the gates of hell will not overcome it.
I hope that this encourages you as it does me.
I hope that this promise can release you to go about your day with peace and hope and a calm which goes beyond understanding.
Whatever you are faced with now, know that Jesus is building His church. What our world looks like today is chaos, evil, distraction, sorrow and so much more… but Jesus’ church is strong, and will not be overcome.

Do keep praying, keep digging into those bible passages and contemplate and savour what Jesus is saying … Praise Him for what He has done – given us life in His name; for what He is doing – building His church and His people in unity and love for one another; and for what He will do as promised in his word – to come again in all His glory and rule upon the earth.
There is hope, because Jesus has you, and us together, in His faithful hands.
