How To Maintain Focus

One of the main benefits of being part of an active lifegroup is doing life together and keeping in check with one another on a regular basis. However, without planning this can lead to the tendency to “drift” and respond, rather than be intentional about outcomes.

Sure, lifegroup should be fairly relaxed. But we mustn’t use this as an excuse to avoid our responsibility to keep us moving forward together, sharpening one another as “iron sharpens iron”.

Over the years I’ve found a short-term program approach helps me to keep a destination in mind while we journey together as a group. It also allows me to use effective resources to meet the development needs the group have identified.

For instance, last year our lifegroup identified it wanted to be more effective in praying for each other. So we accessed resources (DVD’s) in the area of prayer ministry. We were all familiar and comfortable with SOZO so we completed the Basic training as a group. This awareness training made us all more aware of how we can partner with God in prayer to achieve freedom and breakthrough.

We have many resources at North End Church to help lifegroups to grow.

I’ve found it relatively easy to find tools online and many of them are free. A quick “Google” is a good start. I would recommend you check the source of the resource with someone in leadership to ensure that you’re not using material that is unsafe. Studying a course that someone else has used is also a food way to get hold of trusted material.

MONEY AND THE PROSPEROUS SOUL
Stephen De Silva

WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY, WHY DOES IT SEEM AS IF WE’RE ALWAYS ONE STEP BEHIND?

The answer, says Stephen De Silva, is not just about how you handle your bank account. It’s also spiritual.

Stephen combines practical financial teaching with sound biblical truth. As you uncover the root spiritual issues behind money problems you will see how financial and spiritual success start with a soul centred on God.

Success with our money is part of God’s plan for every believer, and it is our assignment today to prepare our hearts and character for good works in Christ. Stephen’s prayer for you is that through this program you would prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2).

I have personally recommended this program to many of my friends as I have found it to be so effective in so many different ways. I know you’ll get hold of financial freedom as a result of applying this teaching.
