Joining the Zion Team

An opportunity to grow.

If you were at Zion (Physically or if you joined us in our live) you would have heard that our church has welcomed a new member to the team, an Administrative Support person, that’s me!

In case you haven’t had the chance to meet me in person, let me introduce myself. My name is Karla, I am wife to Paul, mother to Jacob and Isobel, a member of Zion People and so much more.

Ps. Phil asked me to share what encouraged me to apply for the position out our church, and I have multiple reasons. Number one is that the position here at Zion, unlike so many other jobs out there, allows me to continue being available for my kids and husband in the way I want to be, before school, after school, and through the holidays.
The second reason I applied is that this job is an opportunity for me to help organise, support, and make our church work better, and I LOVE to organise. The reality is that our church is in a time of upheaval, a time of transition, and though this kind of season can bring anxiety, it also brings so much room to grow, to try new things, to organise, refine, and grow.
We have been blessed with a season where not only our church as a whole can grow, but we can grow as individuals as well. We can grow into our gifts and find new and unique places to serve in the church.

I don’t know that I mentioned this to Ps. Phil or the interview panel, but two nights after the Administration role here at church was brought to my attention I woke up at 4.30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. I had so many ideas for how I could help the church that my brain just wouldn’t stop. I took that restless excitement as encouragement to apply, and enlisted my wise women and prayer warriors to start praying God’s will be done.

I wanted so much for the right person to be in place for our church to succeed, and I am so excited that God has positioned me to be that person, that I have been given the opportunity to be on the ground floor of developing our church into a place that really feels like home. A place where all of us can learn, grow, and love one another. A place where every one of us feels like family.
I look forward to being part of the team that helps our church become a light on a hill that serves the nations, and serving alongside all of you.

God Bless,
Karla
