Our journey with Jesus is like flying a jet aeroplane.
If you look at an aeroplane there are two wings and on each wing is a jet engine.
To reach your destination safely and in a timely manner you need both jet engines to be doing their job properly otherwise you experience problems and may fail to reach your destination.
In our journey with Jesus the two jet engines we need are:

Being led by The Holy Spirit.

Being guided by the Word of God
We need both in our lives to journey with Jesus and reach our destination.
The Bible tells us…
Romans 8:14 “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
We need to be led by the Spirit of God
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to guide My feet and a light for my path.”
We need to be guided by the Word of God.
To get to our destination we need both jet engines working.
If a jet aeroplane is only using 1 engine the pilot needs to take lots of corrective action otherwise the aeroplane will head off in the direction of the only working engine. If that is the case, getting to the destination is almost impossible and you end up going somewhere you didn’t want to go or crashing the aeroplane.
If you only have the jet engine of the spirit you will end up crashing in the sea and there is no substance to hold you and you will end up drowning.
If you only have the jet engine of the Word you will end up crashing in the sandy desert and the dryness will mean that you will die of thirst.
To reach our destination with Jesus we need to be led by the Holy Spirit and guided by the Word of God. We need to use both jet engines working to get where we are going.
