We all want things. We want to be healthy and happy. We want nice homes and clothes. We want strong happy families. We want to be debt free. We want the dream job. We want thing and with these things can come worry, anxiety, and stress. Fear that we may never get them.
Thankfully, because our God is a good God, the Bible has something to say about this. Matthew 6:33 (ESV) says “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

If you jump into your Bible to check it out you’ll see that the worries we have mattered enough to God that His word included more than a single verse in Matthew 6.
I encourage you to check out Matthew 6:25 – 34.
Whatever you want., whatever you need, if you place God first in those areas of your life he will take care of it. Sometimes this looks like getting what you want, and sometimes this looks like God changing your heart, and with it what you want.

In Philippians 4:12 (ESV) it says “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.”

If we simplify our lives, placing God first and foremost in our thoughts, plans, and actions we will see a shift in our lives, we will see more contentment.
Putting God first when approaching your desires may be as simple as stopping and asking yourself ‘Where is God in this situation?’, it may mean pausing to ask, ‘What was the last thing God said to me, and does this line up with it?’, or it could be asking yourself, ‘What does God say about this?’ and looking into His word to see. There are also incredible resources available like Bible Gateway and Open Bible that can be fantastic tools to help you research what God is saying to you.
