PERIZZITES
The Perizzites were a nation who lived without city walls, out in the open in tents. Their name means “unwalled”.
What does this look like in your life? This looks like:
- apathy and general lack of interest
- disconnected from church family
- isolation
To overcome the Perizzites and remove the power of isolation from our lives we can Repent, Remove and Replace. We repent to turn away from wrong thinking and false belief, we ask God to remove by His Holy Spirit and we replace with God’s Truth as found in scripture. This can be accessed by intentionally and willingly making a covenant commitment to God and His people. Essentially, it means engaging in church family.
SCRIPTURES
Here are some scriptures that you can declare over your life;
Galatians 3:26-29(NIV)
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Hebrews 8:6(NIV)
But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.
Hebrews 8:8-10(NIV)
But God found fault with the people and said:
“The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.
This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
PRAYER
Here is a prayer that will help you to move into freedom from the weakness of the past life;
Prayer Guide: Father thank you for your Son, Jesus, who has made it possible for me to be connected to you in a personal relationship. I honour the covenant you have made with me and I willingly submit myself to it. I thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ who have also been redeemed and restored by you. I honour the local church as the Bride of Christ and I submit myself to her. Give me grace and strength, give me patience and vision to discover my part to play in the mission of our church.
