What to Expect

What to expect

When looking for a church you want to make sure you’re not getting stuck with weirdos.  (You know, that’s a real risk these days!)  Everyone wants to make sure the church they find is safe and friendly.

Of course, here at ZION we think we’re safe and friendly.  But we’re going to let you be the judge of that.  Here’s what we expect you to experience, and this is what we do our best to provide.

A warm, friendly welcome.

It’s a genuine thing for people to be a little apprehensive when they first walk into a church.  So don’t stress, we realise that and we’re going to do our best to greet you in a warm and friendly way.

You might see a lot of people hugging at the entrance, but that’s just because they know each other really well.  And when you’re with people you consider family, you hug, right?  But don’t feel weird if you don’t want to hug.  Not everyone is a hugger!

A safe environment for all.

We offer a program for kids in the morning and we are careful to screen, train and prepare our volunteers so they can best serve you and your family.

We offer a supervised creche for pre-school children.

Everyone who has contact with young people is required to have a regular Police check and undergo training.

A time for connection with other people.

We like to think of a church gathering as a time for family connection.  So we make room in our time together for people to connect.  If you’re a visitor, you can expect someone to approach you and introduce themselves – that’s what we ask our people to do.  If you’re not the talkative type, please feel safe to say so.  At some point we’re likely to make coffee and tea, so make sure you sample what our team has to offer!

If you want to speak with someone about our church, find one of our friendly Hosts.  They will help by introducing you to the person who can assist you with your needs.

We hope to see you at one of our gatherings some time soon.
