Tired

Tired

I’m tired, weary, some days I stumble through life simply managing the bare minimum and all I can do is accept that this is all I can achieve, so reading Isaiah 40: 28-31 and knowing that my God never has these kinds of days is a relief.

Isaiah 40:28-31(NIV)

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

My God is so full of vitality, energy, and understanding, that His overflow provides strength and power. He renews.

I don’t know about you, but there are some days that I need renewal. Days where its all I can do to press in as close to God as possible so that I can reap the benefit of His overflow.

The world is weary. I am weary. But God is not.

The world is weary. I am weary. But God is not.

God is like that person you go tramping with who is bouncing with energy as He climbs the next hill. That person you might get annoyed at because while He is happily moving forward you are sweating your sunscreen off into your eyes and practically dragging your feet.

God is also the person that can see the beauty that awaits you and tells you about it so that you are encouraged to take those next few steps. He gives you the last little verbal push, and even extends His hand to you, pulling you that last meter so you can enjoy the view with Him.

Like in tramping, to receive the benefits from God you actually have to be in proximity to Him. You have to be on the same path. If you detour down a different path than the one God is leading you down it’s going to take you significantly longer to reach your destination, assuming you actually arrive there, and you may miss some of the beauty along the way.

Like wandering down a forest track at night, you can get lost, you might be scared, you might feel alone.

These are the times to take a pause and figure out where you are. Scream out to God if you need to. He isn’t tired. He isn’t lost. He is more than capable of finding you, and more than that, His pack is full of all of the things that will ensure your comfort and survival.

Scream out to God if you need to. He isn’t tired. He isn’t lost.

God’s path might look similar to the paths around you, but they are not the same. For one thing, any path He leads you down won’t require you to do anything that goes against His word as stated in the Bible. You will not need to step over others to access it, God is the one who will clear the way, you don’t need to. More than anything else God will be there on that path.

God is the one who will clear the way, you don’t need to.

To check if you are still on the right path ask Him, just like you would talk to, and ask questions of a companion who is guiding you on a tramp, ask if you are going the right way, tell Him how you’re feeling, if you feel like you need to slow down tell Him, He might simply encourage you to keep moving forward, but He also might say lets take a rest, let me refresh you.

Know that God has enough energy for you, you just need to access it.
