What Will We Remember?

We have all been in our bubbles for a few weeks now. Our lives have been stripped back to basics in so many ways. It has led to many spending more time with God or connecting with others we have not spoken to in years. For some it was finding the joy in baking or an old forgotten hobby. Some of us have found the beauty in not having to rush around, leaving more time for conversations with children, family and friends. Whatever it may be, we have come to see and rediscover a new normal.

Thinking of going back into the world, to the way it was before, makes me sad in a way. I don’t want to forget what God has done in this time, and what He has established. I don’t want to just go back to a rushed life with our kids and lose the beauty God has shown me in the small things. I think God has given us time to relearn our ‘normal’ during this time, and it is for a good reason!

In Psalm 22:27 it says: “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will bow down before you.”

What is it that you will remember years from now, when we think back on this time? Will we remember how we had to go without, or will we remember how good God was during it all?

My prayer is that the things established in the slower pace of lockdown, would be things that you always look back on as a marker of how God designed you to live and be. That we would each learn something during this time that would remain with us, even when the world returns to normal again…whatever normal may be! Press in, seek Him, listen to Him closely, He wants to share things with you now that you will remember forever.

Blessings,
Zelda
